Tengger Tribe

Tengger tribe is a tribe who live around Mount Bromo, East Java, which occupies parts of Pasuruan, Lumajang, Probolinggo, and Malang.

Tengger tribe people known to obey the rules and the Hindu religion. They sure are direct descendants of the Majapahit. The name comes from the legend of Roro Tengger Anteng and Joko Seger is believed to be the origin of the name of the Tengger, namely "Teng" Roro An-name suffix "teng" and "gate" suffix the name of Ricardo Se-"ger".

For the Tengger tribe, Mount Brahma (Bromo) believed to be a sacred mountain. Once a year the community held a ceremony Yadnya Tengger Kasada or Kasodo. This ceremony is held at a temple located at the foot of Mount Bromo and proceed north to the top of Mount Bromo. The ceremony was held at midnight to early morning every full moon around 14 or 15 in Kasodo (tenth) according to the Javanese calendar.
